Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion is a 2015 Indian epic historical fiction action film written and directed by SS Rajamouli.
The film is inspired by the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata and stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film opened in 616 screens worldwide on 14 November 2015 and is a sequel to the 2014 blockbuster film Baahubali: The Beginning. The film became the highest grossing Indian film in history and was also the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2015, after Force (2015). It is the first Indian film to gross over in a day and the third overall in India. Baahubali: The Conclusion is the second instalment of the Baahubali film series and features Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty reprising their roles. Anushka Shetty who was not in the previous film appeared in the first trailer with an extended appearance in the first song. Telugu film superstar Rajinikanth did the voice of Maharana Pratap. It was released on 14 November 2015. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was declared a commercial success. The film is the first in the Indian film industry to have a digital release on the digital platform Hotstar. The film is the first Indian production to have an iPad app. A year after the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion, a sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, was released.
In the United States, the film was released on Home Video on DVD and Blu-ray on 25 May 2016, by Sivaji Productions.
Plot
The film opens with Mahendra Pratap, the title character played by Prabhas, preparing to fight his greatest enemy. A young princess named Devasena (Tamannaah Bhatia) is being carried along by some soldiers. The soldiers are riding on horses and some are riding on elephants. Princess Devasena has a white dress with yellow flowers. The soldiers stop at a temple and they drink water at the temple. Mahendra Pratap is shocked at their act and starts to attack them, even though he is outnumbered and surrounded by soldiers.
